Established in 2001 the Los Angeles based members organization hosts over 30 events a year for members, sponsors and guests our vision is to create a Los Angeles premiere film culture organization with a large influential & diverse membership of entertainment professionals.
PREMIERES
Movie screenings & premieres are held monthly & include Q & A’s with actors & film makers. Previous film screenings & premieres include: Avatar, Star Trek, Terminator Salvation, The Ugly Truth, X-men Origins, United States of Tara, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Dark Knight, Australia, Black Balloon, Romulus My Father, Elizabeth The Golden Age, The Devil Wears Prada, Brokeback Mountain, The Hours, Rabbit Proof Fence, The King’s Speech, Thor, Sucker Punch.
RED CARPET MEDIA WALL
Sponsors have the opportunity to position branding on the media wall as well as meet and greet with celebrities and members to discuss your value proposition. Photographs from the media wall are distributed internationally by Getty Images.

With sponsor branding firmly in view, filmmakers and actors hold a Q&A with members either before or after the screening.
SCREENING RECEPTION
AIF has pre and post receptions following screenings, providing sponsors the opportunity for further branding and marketing programs.

High profile events held annually include celebration of Australian Oscar nominees, Heath Ledger Scholarship for emerging Australian actors the Breakthrough Awards and the Emmy Party celebrating television success in the US.

HEATH LEDGER SCHOLARSHIP FOR EMERGING ACTORS
With the continued support of the Ledger family and many of Heath’s friends, the HLS will be awarded to an emerging Australian actor, at a high profile annual event in Los Angeles.
AIF BREAKTHROUGH AWARDS
The inaugural Breakthrough Awards were first held in May 2005 to celebrate Australia’s brightest performers and filmmakers to emerge in Hollywood.
CELEBRATION OF OSCAR NOMINEES
A high profile event that generates a large amount of media coverage during Hollywood’s prime red carpet season.
EMMY PARTY
Similar to the Oscar party, the Emmy event aims to celebrate Australian actors nominated at television’s most important annual event.
AIF MEMBER PROFILE
On average 60% of the membership is aged between 30-49 with the largest age bracket between 30 & 39. Gender split is very close with males slightly larger at 52% the membership is highly educated with over 70% holding a college or university degree almost 40% have post graduate qualifications. Over 75% of the membership work in the entertainment sector with the remaining in other professional sectors. Forty percent have other entertainment industry affiliations such as: WGA, DGA, SAG, BAFTA LA & the AMPAS.
