Andrew
Warne
Andrew Warne is Showtime Australia’s LA-based
entertainment reporter. Andrew has worked exclusively
for Showtime since 1995 producing, researching,
writing and presenting SHOWTIME MOVIE NEWS, a
half hour show featuring interviews with the stars,
coverage of movie premieres and location reports
from movie sets.
Andrew Warne also covers the major international
film festivals for Showtime including Cannes,
Venice and Sundance that are screened as specials
on Showtime.
In 2002, Andrew was honoured with the International
Media Award by the Publicists Guild of America.
This prestigious award recognizes outstanding
journalists who cover the entertainment industry,
and is voted on by the Publicist’s Guild
entire membership.
Prior to joining Showtime, Andrew produced and
presented his own weekly entertainment segment
for TEN News and Good Morning Australia. Andrew
worked as a U.S news correspondent for Network
TEN for six years covering major stories from
North America. Some of the news stories that he
covered live include: the Northridge Earthquake,
Altadena-Malibu bush fires, L.A. riots, Rodney
King/LAPD trials, Waco siege, 1992 Presidential
elections, Landers earthquake, Annual Academy,
Emmy & Grammy Awards and the America’s
Cup.
In between Australian outlets, Andrew worked
for more than two years as a local news reporter
for KTTV Channel 11, the Fox News affiliate station
in Los Angeles. Other networks that Andrew has
worked for in and outside the US include the Seven
Network, Sky Television UK and TV3 New Zealand.
No stranger to the movies himself, Andrew has
enjoyed cameo appearances in Independence Day,
and Warren Beatty’s film Bulworth –
portraying strangely enough, an Australian reporter.
Andrew earned a B.A. in International Relations
from UCLA. He is an Australian citizen who resides
in the USA, and is married with three children.
