Australian actor Liam Hemsworth is being eyed for Roland Emmerich's much anticipated sequel Independence Day 2: ID Forever
Hemsworth will join Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum on the cast, who are set to reprise their roles as former President Thomas J. Whitmore and computer scientist David Levinson. Will Smith, who lead the original cast, will not be returning.
Production is expected to begin in May and the film is scheduled to hit theatres on June 24, 2016, 20 years after the original film.
Hemsworth can next been seen starring in Jocelyn Moorehouse's period drama The Dressmaker, opposite Kate Winslet, Hugo Weaving and Judy Davis. Based on the novel by Rosalie Ham, the film is scheduled for release in Australia on October 1,2015. No US dates have been set.
The rising Aussie star will also be seen reprising his role as Gale Hawthorn in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 opposite Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Elizabeth Banks, which is set for release on 20 November, 2015.
Hemsworth also stars in AiF member Kieran Darcy-Smith's Western By Way of Helena, which is currently in post-production. No release date has been set.
