AiF member Daisy Betts and U.S.-born Australian actor, Ashley Zuckerman, are set to star in Syfy's six-hour miniseries, Childhood's End.
Based on British author Arthur C. Clarke's 1953 sci-fi novel of the same name, the series follows the peaceful alien invasion of Earth by the mysterious 'Overlords', whose arrival begins decades of apparent utopia under indirect alien rule, at the cost of human identity and culture.
Filming will take place at Docklands Studios Melbourne and at various locations around Melbourne over 13 weeks in 2014 and 2015.
“Around 380 talented local practitioners, including up to 15 heads of department, will work on the Childhood’s End production, generating an estimated $20 million in production expenditure in Victoria," Minister Asher said.
Syfy greenlighted the miniseries back in September. Betts and Zuckerman join Under the Dome actor Mike Vogel, Emmy nominee Charles Dance (Game of Thrones) and Soy Ikhile (In the Heart of the Sea) on the cast.
Congrats, Daisy, Ashley and Victoria!
