Australian actress Alycia Debnam Carey
has joined the cast of AMC's The Walking Dead
Co-created by Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson, Adam Davidson (Hell on Wheels, About a Boy, Community) is on board to direct the currently untitled project.
Debnam Carey will star opposite British actor Frank Dillane (In the Heart of the Sea) and New Zealand-born actor, Cliff Curtis (Gang Related, Missing), in the companion series, which follows the stories of a divorced teacher (Curtis), a guidance counselor, and her children, played by Dillane and Carey.
According to TVLine, Debnam Carey will play Ashley Tompkins, a level-headed and ambitious teenage daugher of Nancy Tompkins, "a thirtysomething single mom who looks like the girl next door, but there’s an edge to her."
Dillane will play Nancy's troubled teenage son, Nick, and Curtis is on board to play Sean Cabrera, a teacher who tries to do right by everyone in his life.
