Fox is adapting Australian telemovie series Jack Irish into a one-hour drama for US audiences.

Based on the detective novels by Peter Temple, the story follows Jack Irish, a former lawyer turned private investigator and a debt collector, who is trying to pick up the pieces of his life after the murder of his wife.

The telemovies aired in Australia 2012 and 2014, and starred Guy Pearce in the title role.

Australians in Film President, and VP of Scripted Development at Essential Media and Entertainment, Simonne Overend, is executive producing alongside colleagues Chris Hilton and Ian Collie.
