House Husbands

Channel Nine's House Husbands is being re-made for French and Italian audiences.

The Logie award-winning series, which is Produced in Australia by Playmakers Media, centers around the lives of four stay-at-home dads.

The series is being remade in France by production company Made In PM and in Italy by Publispei. Both remakes will use the scripts from the first season of the Australian series.

"The rise of the stay at home dad is obviously happening everywhere and it's great when a warm, funny and relatable Aussie drama like House Husbands resonates internationally," Playmaker's David Maher said.

Andy Ryan, Head of Drama at Nine, said "Just like Australian viewers, the French and Italian networks fell in love with House Husbands immediately and we can’t wait to see their local versions."

Now in its third season, the drama stars Heath Ledger Scholarship winner Anna McGahan, Firass Dirani, Gyton Grantley, Gary Sweet, Rhys Muldoon, Julia Morris, Natalie Saleeba and 2013 HLS runner up George Flood.

New cast members this season include Rachel Griffiths, Darren McMullen, and Lincoln Lewis.

Created by Ellie Beaumont and Drew Proffitt, the series is another successful Australian format to be sold internationally.
