Liam Hemsworth has joined the cast of AiF member Kieran Darcy-Smith's action thriller By Way of Helena
Woody Harrelson is also set to co-star in the project, which is being developed from a 2009 Black List script.
According to Deadline, who broke the news earlier today, Hemsworth will play David, an 1880s Texas ranger sent to an isolated frontier town to investigate a series of mysterious murders. There he squares off against Herrelson as a local preacher named Abraham who holds the townsfolk.
By Way of Helena will be a reunion for Hemsworth and Harrelson, as they previously worked together on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 & 2.
The Melbourne-born star wrapped filming on Part 2 in June, and the film is scheduled for release November 21.
Hemsworth also joined Isla Fisher, The Great Gatsby's breakout star, Elizabeth Debicki, Kate Winslet and Judy Davis on the cast of romantic drama, The Dressmaker.
Set in 1950s outback Australia, Winslet will play Tilly Dunnage, a woman who returns to the small country town she fled from as a child, after being accused of murder. Davis is cast to play her eccentric mother, Molly, and Liam will play her love interest, Teddy.
Darcy-Smith also has been tapped to direct Warner Bros.' Blackwater.
Gideon Yago is writing the script, which is based on the true story of private military company Blackwater Worldwide, founded by former US Navy SEAL, Erik Prince, and its controversial involvement in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Congrats, Kieran and Liam!
