US network ABC has picked up mystery thriller Secrets & Lies to series.

Based on the Network 10 series that first aired 3 March 2014, the US adaptation stars Ryan Phillippe and Juliette Lewis. Stephen M. Irwinis, who wrote the Australian series, and Private Practice/ The Vampire Diaries scribe Barbie Kligman, are on board to pen.

KaDee Strickland, Natalie Martinez, Clifton Collins, Jr., Belle Shouse and Australian Indiana Evans round out the cast.

The series is directed by Charles McDougall.

Kligman is also serving as executive producer on the project, along with Nathan Mayfield of Hoodlum and Aaron Kaplan and Tracey Robertson of Kapital Entertainment, two QLD-based production companies.

ABC has ordered 10 episodes of the series, which is described as a nerve racking plunge behind the curtains of suburbia. Secrets & Lies follows the story of Ben, an everyday family man who finds the body of a four-year-old boy and quickly becomes the prime murder suspect.
