Melissa George has been tapped for the female lead in an untitled ABC drama pilot set in New York.

Co-starring Brit Rufus Sewell and Katie Holmes, the drama is created by Richard LaGravenese (Behind the Candelabra).

The project follows the story of Philip Fitzgerald Julien (Sewell) and Margot Worth Cole (George), two equally matched, powerful socialites who work together to take revenge on Margot's soon-to-be billionaire ex husband, Anderson Cole (played by Oded Fehr), who dupes her out of her full divorce settlement.

Holmes will play Ann, well-respected Audrey Hepburn-like Manhattan socialite who runs a non-profit that helps bring fresh water to villages in Africa. Margot and Philip work together to disprove the existence of love by trying to destroy Ann's seemingly perfect marriage.

Congrats, Melissa!
