Damon Herriman is one of Australia's busiest exports, landing roles in two upcoming American TV series in as many weeks.

The Australians in Film member has signed on as a series regular on original series Flesh and Bone, a drama that is heading straight to air on the STARZ Network. Animal Kingdom writer/director David Michôd is on board to helm the first episode.

Flesh and Bone follows a young ballet dancer, Claire (Sarah Hay), who has a distinctly troubled past, as she joins a prestigious ballet company in New York. The dark and gritty series will unflinchingly explore the dysfunction and glamour of the ballet world.

The project will be written by Moira Walley-Beckett and executive produced by Ms. Walley-Beckett and Starz, with Executive Producers Lawrence Bender (Oscar® nominated for Inglourious Basterds, Pulp Fiction and Good Will Hunting), Kevin Brown (Roswell, Sex and the CityHouse of CardsNurse JackieRome).

Production is scheduled to begin in New York City in early 2014, meaning Herriman will be back and forth from Los Angeles and New York to juggle all his roles.

Flesh and Bone is expected to debut on STARZ on 2015.

As we reported last week, Herriman has also landed a recurring role on Vince Gilligan's highly anticipated CBS drama series Battle Creek, another series that is confirmed to go right to air.

Herriman is cast to play Detective Niblet, an officer of Battle Creek Police Department.

The police drama follows two lawmen, Detective Russ Agnew and FBI Agent Milton, who have different views on the world, but team up to solve crimes in Michigan's Battle Creek.

Dean Winters (Law & Order: SVU, Oz, 30 Rock) is cast as Agnew, no word yet on who will play the other lead.

The series is created by Vince Gilligan, the mastermind behind AMC's Breaking Bad

Gilligan has joined forces with House creator David shore to bring the 13-part series to air on CBS later in 2014.

Herriman's first day on set will be March 17!

Born in Adelaide, the now LA-based actor is best known in the US for playing Dewey Crowe on FX series Justified.

AiF members can next see Damo playing band manager Chris Murphey in INXS: Never Tear Us Apart. Details HERE.

Congrats, Damo!
