Australian rising star Luke Bracey is tapped to join the cast of Alcon Entertainment's Point Break remake.

Bracey is cast to play FBI Agent Johnny Utah, the role originally played by Keanu Reeves in Kathryn Bigelow's 1991 film.

He joins Scot Gerard Butler, who is already attached to play Bodhi, and director Ericson Core is on board to helm.

According to reports, Bracey beat out Luke Grimes (Fifty Shades of Grey), Christian Cooke (Magic City) and Sam Clafin (The Hunger Games) for the role.

This has been a great month for Bracey, who was also recently announced to take over the late Paul Walker's role in Michael Hoffman's The Best of Me

Another successful Home and Away alumnus, the Sydney-born Bracey can next be seen in the Pierce Brosnan action thriller November Man, which set for release later this year.

Congrats, Luke!
