Hugh Jackman has signed on to star in Warner Bros.' upcoming blockbuster reimagining of Peter Pan

Helmed by Joe Wright, Jackman is set to play the villain, Blackbeard, and Garrett Hedlund (Inside Llewyn Davis, Unbroken) is cast as Captain Hook. No word yet on who will play the title role.

In an interview with Huffington Post, Jackman said:
"I love the director Joe Wright, I love working with Warner Bros and I think this is just really exciting. It's a very cool project. And it's wonderful for my kids!"

Greg Silverman, president of creative development and worldwide production at WB said in a statement:
"Hugh Jackman always delivers indelible performances that resonate with audiences. We know he will create a Blackbeard who will be a powerful presence in this original Peter Pan adventure."

The film is expected to hit screens in 2015.

Jackman recently wrapped shooting on X-Men: Days of Future Past, where he reprised his role as Wolverine, and is currently filming Chappie, the action thriller from Neill Blomkamp, which also stars Sigourney Weaver and Sharlto Copley.
