Aussie actor Ross Langley has landed his first feature role and it's in Angelina Jolie's drama Unbroken!
According to IF, Langley nabbed the role by sending in a self-recorded audition tape to the producers. A NIDA grad, the Aussie actor is cast to play WWII pilot, Mitchell.
Unbroken tells the true story of Louis Zamperini, an American track star and second lieutenant in the US Army Air Force during World War II, whose plane crashed into the Pacific Ocean while on assignment.
Zamperini survived for 47 days in the Ocean before his raft was washed ashore the Marshall Islands, where he was captured by Japanese forces and held captive and tortured for two years.
Jack O'Connell is playing Zamperini and rising star Alex Russell is cast as his older brother, Pete.
Directed by Angelina Jolie, Unbroken is being shot in Queensland.
Universal Pictures has scheduled the movie for release in the U.S. on Christmas Day 2014.
