Congratulations to Aussies Cate Blanchett, Ian Collie, Sue Smith, Catherine Martin and Michael Wilkinson on their BAFTA nominations!
Blanchett is nominated in the Lead Actress category for her outstanding performance in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine. The two time BAFTA winner is up against Amy Adams (American Hustle), Emma Thompson (Saving Mr. Banks), Judi Dench (Philomena) and Sandra Bullock (Gravity).
Ian Collie and Sue Smith are nominated for their work on Saving Mr. Banks - Collie as producer and Smith as writer, in the Outstanding British Film category for the UK, USA and Australia co-production.
With three wins and two nominations already under her belt, Martin is no stranger to BAFTA's accolades. Wednesday's announcement saw Martin secure the nomination for Best Production Design and Best Costume Design for The Great Gatsby, bringing her total tally to three wins and four nominations.
Martin is competing against fellow Aussie Michael Wilkinson for his costume design on American Hustle. Like Martin, Wilkinson has an impressive resume, having worked on Man of Steel, The Twilight Sagas, Sucker Punch and 300.
Winners will be announced on Sunday 16 February at the EE British Academy Film Awards ceremony in London.
Congrats and good luck to all the nominees!
