Screen Australia has announced $424,000 in funding to support 15 filmmaking teams to develop their feature film projects.

Amongst the projects to receive support is "Sons of Salt," a crime story from Australians in Film member David O'Donnell, about an ex-con trying to get his life together but is reluctantly drawn into a dangerous scenario by his pro-surfer brother.

O'Donnell's team includes director Jonathan Auf der Heide (Van Dieman's Land, The Turning), producer Rob Gibson (Primal) and executive producer Adam Schroeder (The Truman Show, Chronicle).

Fellow Australian Alex Russell (Chronicle, Carrie) will star alongside O'Donnell in the drama.
