Nicole Kidman has selected Jason Bateman to direct her upcoming dramedy feature "The Family Fang".
Based on the best selling novel by Kevin Wilson, "The Family Fang" tells the story of kooky performance artists Caleb and Camille Fang and their maladjusted children, Buster and Annie.
Pulitizer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire, who worked with Kidman on the Oscar nominated film "Rabbit Hole," has been enlisted to adapt the novel.
Kidman's production company, Blossom Films, bought the film rights to the novel in 2011. Production is expected to begin next year.
