Kidman, Weaving and Pearce heading to Oz for Strangerland

Monday, October 21, 2013 9:55 AM | Anonymous

Nicole Kidman, Hugo Weaving and Guy Pearce are heading back to Oz to star in "Strangerland".

Directed by Kim Farrant, "Strangerland" tells the story of Catherine and Matthew Parker, a couple whose relationship is pushed to the brink as they confront the mystery of their two teenage children, who disappeared into the remote Australian desert.

Farrant is directing a script by Fiona Seres (Puberty Blues, Love My Way) and Michael Kinirons (Lowland Fell) and the film is receiving some financing from screen agency Screen Australia.

Screen Australia's Chief Executive Ruth Harley said:
"Kim Farrant's Strangerland has an incredible cast ... a strong creative vision and massive A-list festival potential"
