Tuesday, September 03, 2013 12:11 PM | Anonymous

Hugh Jackman is set to receive two prestigious awards at film festivals in Spain and Switzerland in September.

The Academy Award nominated- Golden Globe and Tony Award winning star will be presented with a lifetime achievement award on September 27 at Spain's San Sebastian Film Festival, and the Golden Icon Award at the Zurich Film Festival on September 28.

In addition to receiving ZFF’s Golden Icon Award, Jackman will present his latest film, the intense thriller PRISONERS, directed by Denis Villeneuve and co-starring Jake Gyllenhaal, which has been selected to screen in the Gala Premieres section of the Festival.

In Prisoners, Jackman plays a man who takes matters into his own hands following the disappearance of his young daughter and her best friend.

“Hugh Jackman is in a class by himself as a multi-talented entertainer with a global following”, said co-directors Nadja Schildknecht and Karl Spoerri. “There is nothing he can’t do and he proves this time and time again with every project he’s involved in. We’re honored to recognize his brilliant career at the Zurich Film Festival.”
Congrats, Hugh!
