Tuesday, August 20, 2013 5:00 PM | Anonymous

Congrats to the "Mystery Road" team - the Aussie film set in outback QLD has been selected to screen at the Toronto Film Festival next month.

Mystery Road had its world premiere last June at the Sydney's prestigious Film Festival, before heading to Melbourne International Film Festival in July.

Written and directed by Ivan Sen, and starring Aaron Pedersen, Hugo Weaving, Jack Thompson, Ryan Kwanten and Tasma Walton, Mystery Road will be released in Australian cinemas in the coming month or two.  Stay tuned!

SYNOPSIS:
Indigenous cowboy detective Jay Swan returns to his outback home town, to solve the murder of a teenage girl, whose body is found under the highway trucking route out of town.

Alienated from both the white dominated police force and his own community, including his teenage daughter, who he discovers is connected with the murdered girl, Jay stands alone in his determination to fight back for his town and his people.

Fun Fact: In 2010, Australians in Film awarded Ryan Kwanten with the Breakthrough Award at an exclusive celebration at the Thompson Beverly Hills in Los Angeles.
