Village Roadshow Pictures is one of the world’s leading independent producers and financiers of feature films, including box-office smash hits THE LEGEND OF TARZAN, MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, AMERICAN SNIPER, HAPPY FEET, THE LEGO® MOVIE, the OCEAN’S series and THE MATRIX trilogy.

Animal Logic Entertainment is a highly respected and ground breaking digital production studio whose work can be seen in such big-budget films, including CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE, UNBROKEN, INSURGENT, THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, THE LEGO® MOVIE and HAPPY FEET, and upcoming THE LEGO® BATMAN MOVIE, THE LEGO® NINJAGO MOVIE & THE LEGO® MOVIE SEQUEL.

Valued at $20,000, the three month internship will run from early 2017, with living and travel expenses covered while the recipient gets invaluable work experience in the Hollywood studio system.

Kate Marks, President of Australians in Film said, "AiF's mission is to connect the Australian industry with the international market. This internship is potentially a life changing, once in a lifetime opportunity for a recent business graduate or graduate to work with two of the industry's leading production companies."

CEO of Animal Logic, Zareh Nalbandian said, "The team at Animal Logic Entertainment is proud to welcome another Aussie intern into our Los Angeles film development and production office. Australia is at the forefront of emerging technologies and memorable storytelling, always punching above its weight in content creation for all screens and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Australians in Film and Village Roadshow, mentoring and encouraging more collaborative, creative and innovative Australian creatives into the future!”

Greg Basser, CEO of Village Roadshow Entertainment Group added, “We are delighted to participate once again in this program that gives a unique look into the film business for students and recent graduates and look forward to reviewing this year’s applicants.”

Winner of this year’s Village Roadshow Entertainment Group and Animal Logic Entertainment Internship, Melanie Jayne said “The internship has been a very insightful and rewarding experience. From working at Village Roadshow Pictures and Animal Logic Entertainment, I've learned so much about how the film industry operates here in Los Angeles. Everything from the day-to-day operations of a production company, what kind of scripts are chosen to be developed into feature films, who the current and up-and-coming players in the industry are and more.

Working with these two great Australian companies has allowed me to not only immerse myself in the heart of the film industry and expand my networks here in the U.S., but it has also strengthened my connection with the Australian film industry. Thank you to Australians in Film for providing this wonderful opportunity and to everyone at VRP and ALE for being so kind and genuinely helpful.”
